ICSA’s management qualifications come in two levels – the Certificate and the Diploma in Business Practice. Each level has four modules, and each module has its own exam. At each level the different modules aim to reflect the key knowledge and skills you will need to fulfil your business role professionally and effectively.

Which course is for you?

The level you start at depends on the qualifications and experience which you already have. We can only advise on your intended entry. The ICSA themselves will tell you which level you can take if you contact them directly.

The Certificate in Business Practice is roughly the same level as the first year of a degree programme and is made up of four modules, as follows: Business Environment, Business Communications, Accounting for Business, and Business Management. Anyone can study the Certificate.

The Diploma in Business Practice is roughly the same level as the second year of a degree programme and is also made up of four modules, as follows: Business Law in Practice, Marketing, Business Finance, and Business Strategy and Planning. You are required to have passed the ICSA Certificate (or an equivalent qualification) before starting the Diploma.

You can study any single module if that's all that you want to do; you do not have to do all the modules in a level unless you want to gain the Certificate or Diploma.

Standard of English

If your main language is not English, you should have a minimum standard in the use of English equivalent to the British Council International English Language Testing System (IELTS) band 6 to get the most out of your study. Visit www.ielts.org for more information.
